WE’RE READY to take you to Tasmania’s special places.

Remote wilderness, authentic regional experiences, thriving communities and world-class cultural heritage sites await you in Tasmania.

The health and wellbeing of our guests, staff and our community is our primary focus and our team is ready to take you touring with confidence around our island state. Under Down Under’s COVID safety protocols comply with government and industry standards and will provide you with peace of mind so that you can travel confidently in this new period of heightened health and safety.

The main attributes of our COVID-READY procedures are:

WE FOLLOW ADVICE FROM TASMANIA’S PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISORY

Our company policy is to follow the mandates from the Tasmanian Government’s Public Health Advisory.  Information on current advice can be accessed here: https://www.coronavirus.tas.gov.au/travellers-and-visitors/coming-to-tasmania. This relates to entry requirements for visiting the state and all other local and up-to-date requirements.  Please note that these are subject to change, so we suggest keeping on top of these details in the lead up to your tour.

WE’RE PRIORITISING HYGIENE

We are not talking about muddy boots after hitting the trails as we visit our National Parks!  We mean a dedicated focus on regular hygiene and cleaning practices.

On our tours you will find additional cleaning, sanitising, and hygiene practices.  We focus on high touch points and hard surfaces.  We follow the WorkSafe guidelines for disinfecting and sanitising, as well as the recommended cleaning products.

Our tour vehicles will be equipped with hand sanitising stations and have available for use if required, (emergency) disposable facemasks, gloves, tissues, and sanitising wipes. Our air-conditioning systems will be subject to thorough checks and increased routine cleaning and operate using the fresh air intake.

When required by the Tasmanian Public Health Authority, masks must be worn on the tour vehicles and in the community where specified.  We support the use of face masks and ask guests to bring their own personal use, and to bring their own supply of hand sanitiser for when they are out and about during free time. Guests should also bring a supply of Rapid Antigen Tests to enable prompt response to a potential incident while travelling in Tasmania, particularly when in remote and regional areas.

WE’RE READY TO TOUR… ARE YOU?

Before you tour with us, please consider your health and the impact this may have on your experience and on others. You should defer your travel plans if you are feeling unwell and experiencing COVID-19 symptoms in the week leading up to your tour. Symptoms include: runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever, fatique, aches, or shortness of breath. Other reasons to defer travel include if you have tested positive for COVID-19, or are awaiting results from a test.

While on tour with us, Under Down Under’s COVID-READY planning contains policies and procedures in the event one of our guests or staff become unwell during a tour. We will work closely with Public Health authorities to respond proportionately, keeping the safety, health and well-being of all guests and staff as our number one priority.

Be assured that staff are required to declare any signs of possible COVID-related illness prior to tour and will not serve as your guide if unwell.

IT’S A TEAM EFFORT

All staff will have undertaken mandatory COVID-READY training.  This includes risk mitigation through our cleaning and sanitising procedures as well as response handling.

Our suppliers are also activating appropriate COVID Safe practices and we will continue to monitor the COVID safe operating plans for all our partners.

KEEPING OUR SPACE

Physical distancing measures will be in place wherever practicable throughout our tours.

To tour Tasmania, we use tour vehicles ranging from 6 seats to 24 seats in size. We have developed stringent cleaning and sanitation procedures for these vehicles including high frequency of cleaning and disinfecting of high touch points.  We ask that guests keep the same seats for the duration of their tour. Your guide will go over some key points about optimum hygiene practices with you at the beginning of your tour.

Our small group adventures around Tasmania provide an opportunity for guests to explore our main attractions as well as many hidden gems. We will work closely with guests to ensure their experience is safe, exceptional, and meaningful.

We look forward to having you tour Tasmania with us!
